Is Stake available in the UK, or is the UK on its prohibited list? It’s on the list. Clause 14.3 of its terms names the United Kingdom among 45 prohibited jurisdictions, and Medium Rare N.V. runs Stake.com from Curaçao.

Masking your location breaks the terms and can cost the account, bets and winnings. The old UK site, stake.uk.com, had a different operator and no longer resolves. This page is for UK readers who meet the Stake name on slots.

Reading the prohibited list: is Stake available in the UK

Clause 14.3 holds the whole answer. It lists 45 prohibited jurisdictions. If you’re located in one of them, or live in one, you aren’t permitted to use the service.

The United Kingdom is on that list. So are the United States, France, Spain, the Netherlands and Australia. Alberta and Ontario, both Canadian provinces, count as entries of their own.

The rule counts both where you live and where you are. A UK resident stays covered on a trip abroad. Being a visitor does not change this, so is Stake available in the UK to someone from a country off the list? Not while they’re located here.

Looking back at the old UK site

Stake once had a separate site for Great Britain. That site, stake.uk.com, was run by TGP Europe Limited under a white-label deal. In a deal like that, one company runs a site under another company’s brand.

On 12 February 2025, TGP said it would stop new sign-ups straight away. It would also take down the links that sent visitors on from the main Stake site.

TGP Europe said the separate UK site would close by 11 March 2025. Stake.com’s own terms do not mention stake.uk.com or TGP Europe at all. The rule for Stake.com sits in its clause 14.3, which names the United Kingdom as prohibited.

Understanding the account rules

Clause 14.3 says any attempt to get round the restriction breaks the agreement. The terms add 5 clauses that spell out what counts and what can follow.

  • Clause 14.4 covers masking your real location to get round the restrictions. A VPN, a proxy or a similar service counts, and so do false or misleading details about where you live.
  • Clause 5.2 lets Stake close or suspend the account at its own discretion. It may also void bets, as far as the law allows.
  • Clause 4.21 applies when an account is closed or suspended for a breach of the terms. Stake may then void bets and withhold or keep any amount it would otherwise pay you, winnings included, as far as the law allows.
  • Clause 4.3 covers sign-up details that aren’t complete, accurate or up to date. Stake may suspend the account, treat later deposits as invalid and void any winnings from them.
  • Clause 4.8 lets Stake ask for any ID documents it deems necessary to confirm who you are and where you are. It may restrict the service, payments or withdrawals until your identity is sufficiently determined, or for any other reason at its own discretion.

If Stake does close an account, clause 4.23 says it will tell you the available ways to withdraw the remaining balance. For money held in a closed, locked or excluded account, clause 8.12 points you to Stake’s support team by email. Clause 6.3 also lists a 24/7 live chat, which works only when you’re logged in.

Taking a complaint further

A complaint starts with Stake’s customer service, free of charge. If Stake’s final decision does not settle it, CADRE B.V., an independent dispute body certified by the Curaçao Gaming Authority, can take it on, free for the player.

Stage Time limit What happens
Complaint to Stake’s customer service Within 6 months of the incident Stake confirms receipt in writing within one week
Stake’s written decision Within 4 weeks, or 8 if Stake extends once If you’re still unhappy, tell Stake so
Referral to CADRE Within 1 year of your first complaint Claims from USD 50 to USD 500,000, through CADRE’s Claims Form
Missing details Within 14 days of CADRE’s request Without them the dispute is inadmissible
CADRE’s decision Best efforts within 90 days of a complete file Either side may appeal within 2 weeks

CADRE’s decision binds Stake only when the dispute is admissible, concerns gameplay or the running of games of chance, and is worth less than USD 5,000. The regulator itself does not mediate individual disputes, and a referral to CADRE does not take away your right to go to court.

Take a hypothetical, admissible gameplay dispute worth USD 4,999. The decision binds Stake, though not while an appeal that Stake lodges is pending. At USD 5,000, the same dispute gets a non-binding proposed solution, which Stake says it will consider in good faith.

Naming the company behind Stake.com

Medium Rare owns and operates the site, from a registered address at Seru Loraweg 17 B in Curaçao. Its payment agents are Medium Rare Limited and MRS Tech Limited.

Stake’s terms name its licence from the Curaçao Gaming Authority, number OGL/2024/1451/0918. The footer shows certification seals from GameCheck and Tanzanite.

To look the licence up yourself, use the regulator’s own register. It lists the licence from 9 December 2025 to 9 June 2026, with the status “Assessment in progress”. The register adds that its lists don’t guarantee a licence’s current validity.

Exploring the casino and the sportsbook

Stake.com splits into a casino and a sportsbook. Its in-house games carry the Stake Originals name. Mines, Dice, Blackjack, Limbo, Plinko, Keno, Crash and Chicken all sit on that shelf. The live casino runs tables from Evolution and Pragmatic Play.

Look at the trending row in the desktop capture above. Waylanders Forge, a Valkyrie slot, sits among the big-studio names. It was built on Stake Engine, which the next section covers.

Meeting the Stake Engine studios

Stake Engine, branded Engine on its own site, lets independent creators build games. Engine reviews and hosts each one. Every approved game goes live on Stake, usually within hours of approval.

Engine’s own counters show more than 5,500 games built on it, from more than 1,500 creators. Its site also tells other operators that the games can reach their platforms through Engine Integration.

Valkyrie Studio builds its slots on Stake Engine, and the studio page covers 15 of them. The reviews of Waylanders Forge, Wings of Valhalla and Four Leaf Fortune each carry a free demo. A demo shows you how the reels, wilds and features behave, with no account needed anywhere.
